What is "Know Your Neighbours"?

"Know Your Neighbours" is a grass-roots community group in Seal, near Sevenoaks in Kent. The group is made up of anyone in the village who wants to get involved - individuals, clubs and societies, businesses, church and schools, parish council, and many others.
We organise local events through the year - fetes, street parties, Christmas events etc. - and we hold social gatherings, just so that people can get to "know their neighbours". There's no "committee" - anyone who turns up for meetings is welcome to help in any way they are able.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW MORE, OR BE ADDED TO THE EMAIL LIST, contact Marion Gilchrist , who coordinates the group, or Anne Le Bas, who maintains this blog.

November update

Welcome to our November update for KYN!

Firstly, a couple of messages from Seal Parish Council.
There is currently a vacancy on the council, and elections will be coming up in May 2019.
The PC have recently updated the Parish Plan, which can be found on their website, www.sealparishcouncil.org.uk under the heading of 'Responsibilities', or copies are available from the library or on the parish notice boards.
Please take a look and maybe join the PC to make a contribution to parish life.

Seal Talking Village is expanding!
Our Monday afternoon sessions in Birch's, are proving popular, and we have had some very interesting afternoons, with lots of laughter thrown in! We would like to thank Ashley and her team, for making us so very welcome.
We now have two other sessions each week, both in the Church Hall.
The first will be on Thursday mornings, as part of Seal Tiddlers , and on Friday mornings as the regular Friday Group, have also agreed to be part of this initiative. These are great opportunities to come along for a friendly chat during the week. Both between 10am and midday.
There are also plans to have Talking Tables, in the beautiful setting of Lavender Fields, Seal's new care home, for the whole community to join in with , and possibly, some Saturday mornings in the library.
So - watch this space, and let's see the Talking Village grow in so many directions!
Talking Village has been attracting a wide range of people, including some who work from home, and perhaps, miss the human contact they would have in an office environment.

If you have an hour or so to spare, to help host these sessions, particularly on Saturdays, please contact either myself, or Anne le Bas .
